Due out March 20 on his own VANDIT label, EVOLUTION is PAUL VAN DYK’s (PvD) first major offering since 2007’s In Between and his sixth studio album overall. It is the product of the Berlin-based electronic dance music producer and performer’s months of studio time, and far more time spent on the road traveling the globe. The backbone of the album was built while performing and composing in front of live audiences worldwide and its connecting threads build upon decades of watching the electronic dance music scene grow and change. The first offering, available today, Friday, February 3 as a free download exclusively via http://www.paulvandyk.com/, is “Verano” featuring Austin Leeds. EVOLUTION is now available for pre-order in CD and digital formats and also as 180 gram double vinyl at the site as well.
Miami-based DJ/producer Austin Leeds, who previously collaborated with PvD on “New York City” from his last studio album In Between, is featured on EVOLUTION for the intense and punchy floor filler. Says PvD, “There’s a sunny Miami bass vibe to it and I’m coming more from the darker, Berlin underground side, and when we work together you find both sides there, but not in a separate way. It belongs together.”
PAUL VAN DYK’s 2012 U.S. special performances in a more intimate setting for his fans thus far include:
2/8 - Chicago @ The Mid
2/9 - NYC @ Pacha
2/10 - San Francisco @ Ruby Skye
2/11 - Los Angeles @ Avalon
3/24 - Miami @ Ice Palace (Winter Music Conference)
Tickets go on sale Tuesday, February 7 at noon ET. For more information on PvD, check out his official site, Facebook, and @paulvandyk

@EricTurner best known for his work with Tinie Tempah on the platinum single “Written In The Stars” and Lupe Fiasco on the anthemic “Break The Chain,” singer-songwriter Eric Turner has teamed with the two rappers for “Angels & Stars,” the lead single from his upcoming debut album on Capitol Records (due in mid-2012). Produced by Eshraque “iSHi” Mughal (“Written In The Stars”), the song serves as a cautionary meditation on people’s fascination with stardom.
In anticipation of the official video for "Angels & Stars" - recently shot in Los Angeles by director P.R. Brown (Skylar Grey, John Mayer, Alicia Keys) - Eric Turner has just unveiled a Behind the Scenes look at the making of it. The video includes footage of Turner filming the street art inspired video, along with appearances by Lupe and Tempah.
Turner was born in Boston and decided to live in Sweden after attending Uppsala University in an exchange program. He got his start in music as the front man for the band Street Fighting Man, and was introduced to iSHi at the suggestion of a mutual friend. The duo blend iSHi's hip hop production style with Turner's songwriting roots to create a big stadium sound. "It's organic and natural," says Turner. "We write songs like they did back in the '60s.""
Angels & Stars" is available now on iTunes. Keep an eye out for the official video premiering this Friday, February 3rd, and stay up-to-date on Eric via his official site, Facebook, and Twitter.
